A captivating view of the ancient Luxor Temple with towering obelisks and statues under a clear sky.
Egypt

Luxor

Luxor has a very dry desert climate. Summer afternoons are intensely hot, while winter brings warm sightseeing days and cool nights. Sun protection matters even when a morning calls for a jacket.

Lyon

Cool winters, changeable spring and autumn days and warm summer spells call for flexible layers. Rain can interrupt walking in any season. Monthly values are calculated from NASA POWER MERRA-2 gridded daily data for 1991–2020 at the city coordinates. They represent a regional model cell, not a city weather station. Street shade, coastal exposure, elevation and urban warmth can differ. Climate averages do not predict an individual trip.

Hot and humid all year, with showers in every month. January–February are relatively drier in the historical Melaka series; November is wetter. Plan the hill and exposed riverwalk around the current forecast.

Malmö

Winter days are short, with frost, snow or slippery wet surfaces possible. Summer brings long evenings, but waterfront wind still needs a layer.

England

Manchester

Manchester has cool winters, mild summers and rain in every season. Woodford’s 1991–2020 averages provide a regional baseline outside the city centre; streets among tall buildings and exposed canals can feel different. A hooded rain layer and shoes that handle wet paving are useful throughout the year.

The little things worth knowing

Historic brick façade along an Aalborg street

A first weekend in Aalborg

Give Aalborg one waterfront-and-city day, then choose art or archaeology for the second. That keeps the fjord crossing and museum openings from becoming last-minute surprises.

Aalborg Tower among trees at sunset

Aalborg: Kunsten, Kildeparken and a tower choice

Choose Kunsten for art and Alvar Aalto’s architecture, with a park pause on the approach. Aalborg Tower is a separate seasonal viewpoint, so check it before making the climb the purpose of your day.

A serene sunset over Aalborg harbor with silhouetted sailing ships against a vibrant sky.

Aalborg: Lindholm Høje as a separate half-day

Lindholm Høje lies across the fjord from central Aalborg. Give its stone settings and museum a separate half-day, with the indoor opening calendar checked before you travel.

Aalborg: the older centre and a named pub stop

Use Aalborg’s old streets for a compact walk between the centre and fjord. A specific pub stop can make a useful finish, but the architecture and public streets remain the route’s main purpose.

Industrial waterfront and silos reflected in Aalborg’s Limfjord

Aalborg: Utzon Center and the Limfjord waterfront

Aalborg’s waterfront lets you compare a working fjord city with newer cultural buildings. Use the Utzon Center as the main interior, then keep the outdoor route flexible in wind.
